Martin O’Neill said he was pleased with Celtic’s performance in their 2-0 win over Motherwell, which marked his 250th victory as the club’s manager.
Celtic’s official report said goals from Camilo Durán and Benjamin Nygren, one in each half, secured the points and kept the side top of the table after the weekend fixtures. O’Neill said his team had created chances to score more.
O’Neill also praised Mika Baur’s contribution in midfield and said both scorers had reached seven goals for the season.
Jota returned to the side after 533 days out through injury. O’Neill said the winger’s return was like having a new player and expressed hope that he would avoid another serious injury as he regained fitness.
