1. Who may participate
Comments and other account-only community features are for registered users aged 18 or over. Public football pages remain available without an account.
2. Keep discussion about football and treat people with respect
Disagreement, criticism and rivalry are allowed. Abuse is not.
Do not post:
- threats, encouragement of violence or celebration of real-world harm;
- hate or dehumanising content based on protected characteristics;
- targeted harassment, stalking or repeated unwanted contact;
- slurs or sexual harassment;
- private or identifying information about another person;
- impersonation or deceptive identity claims;
- defamatory allegations presented as fact without a responsible basis;
- spam, scams, malware, phishing or manipulated links;
- betting scams, guaranteed-win claims or requests for gambling funds;
- instructions for illegal activity;
- sexually exploitative or abusive content;
- copyright-infringing material or substantial copied text; or
- attempts to evade moderation, bans or rate limits.
3. Public comments
Comments, replies, display names and avatars can be public and indexed. Do not include an email address, phone number, home address, login information, ticket barcode, financial information or another person’s private data.
You are responsible for what you submit. A football rumour, accusation or allegation should be clearly presented as unverified where appropriate and should not be stated as an established fact without a reliable basis.
4. Links and promotion
Relevant links may be allowed. Repeated promotion, affiliate spam, referral codes, fake streaming links, pirated broadcasts, betting recruitment and irrelevant advertising are prohibited.
Links may be held for review automatically.
5. Match discussion and score visibility
MatchTide may offer a hide-scores preference, but public match comments can reveal scores or events. We do not guarantee spoiler-free discussion.
6. Moderation
MatchTide may use rules, rate limits and automated systems to detect spam, unsafe language, suspicious links or other risks. Content may be published, held for review, labelled, restricted or removed.
Automated tools can make mistakes. A moderator may review context, account history, reports and evidence. MatchTide is not required to publish every comment or preserve every discussion indefinitely.
7. Enforcement
Depending on severity and history, MatchTide may:
- warn the user;
- limit a comment or link;
- remove content;
- temporarily restrict commenting;
- suspend or close an account;
- preserve evidence;
- refer a credible threat or unlawful matter to an appropriate authority; or
- take no action where a report is unsupported.
Severe threats, exploitation, fraud, coordinated abuse or repeated evasion may result in immediate action.
8. Reporting content
Use the report action beside a comment or the community-report form in the Support Centre. Select the closest reason and explain the concern. Do not submit duplicate reports to pressure a moderator. Open form
A report is private. MatchTide may not be able to disclose every moderation detail about another user.
9. Appeals
If MatchTide removes your content or restricts an account and the action is eligible for appeal, you can submit a moderation appeal. Explain why the decision should be changed and provide relevant context. Open form
An appeal is reviewed against the rules, available evidence and any safety or legal restrictions. Repeated appeals without new information may be closed.
10. Deleted accounts and comments
Before deleting an account, you can delete your own eligible comments. After final account deletion, remaining public comments may be anonymised to “Deleted user” to preserve discussion and moderation context, unless removal is otherwise required.
11. Changes
These Guidelines may change as features, risks or law change. Material changes may require account holders to review the new version before continuing to comment.
