Celtic assistant manager Shaun Maloney wants his side to carry the commitment and confidence from recent performances into Thursday’s Europa League match against Celta Vigo.
Speaking to the club on Wednesday, Maloney said the 7-1 win over Hearts had lifted confidence. He also pointed to Celtic’s second-half display against Benfica and their performance against Motherwell as recent examples the squad should build on.
Maloney said Celta are capable of causing problems and that Celtic would need to match their work off the ball as well as their creativity in possession. Neither team has taken points from its first two league-phase fixtures, according to Celtic.
Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston have returned to training but will not feature on Thursday. Maloney said they could be available for the weekend trip to Hibernian. Auston Trusty is also set to miss the Celta match for a private matter.
